On Being #LikeAGirl | #MyFridayStory №3

If you have never seen the Always #LikeAGirl campaign from a few years back, do yourself a favour, spare the three minutes and watch it (see below).

It challenges some of the prejudices men traditionally harbour towards women.

As the father of daughters and the uncle of a dozen nieces, I took an introspective look at my own prejudices built up over time, and saw how seriously flawed those are. I consciously worked on changing how I think and what I believed.

The labels we like to stick on people because they behave different to us or look different, is loaded with prejudice. The pigeon-holes we conveniently shove people into, oozing prejudice. Prejudice arguably, is the result of much heartache and hatred in the world today.

We need to lose all our prejudices — seeing girls as #LikeAGirl, is a great place to start, don’t you think?
